A Little Mix Of Something Old and Something New

Go away cold weather...I'm ready for spring.  Are you?  That little teaser warm spring week that we had sure left a lasting impression and I want it back...PLEASE!  I was all prepared to get started on my project list.  I did set out some pansies...I was so tired of looking at those old empty pots of dirt.  Doesn't this look soooo much better than a pot of dirt?
And I got these sweet little babies too...just waiting to plant them and watch them grow.  Hurry spring...I need you.  So... since I can't do things outside here's a little something I found at my new favorite flea market.

Right now she's all decorated up for Easter but soon she will find herself outside all filled with flowers (don'tcha love the eggs my sweet girl painted for me).

Of course sometimes you have to mix a little new with the old like this little beauty from Willow House.  I added a couple of little chicks and a bunch of eggs from Hobby Lobby.  Oh and that adorable little bunny is also from Hobby Lobby too.

Since the trees were blooming so beautifully I couldn't resist bringing in a little of their beauty so that I could enjoy it even more.  By the way the vase is also Willow House (available in the online outlet store).

Of course I'm getting prepared for Easter even though my babies aren't little anymore I still love filling their baskets with all kinds of goodies like this lil cutie...

Shhh...don't tell them...remember it's the Easter Bunny that delivers all these goodies.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

I'm linking up to some other wonderful blogs so hop on over and see the other amazing things my fellow bloggers have created.

The One That Got Away

As I settle in my chair that the cat (Delilah) and I battle for (she finally gave in and isn't waiting for me to get up just so she can take it back) I thought I would share my latest finds.  I guess some may think that I have been fishing and I'm gonna talk about the big one that got away but nope that's not it.  Well, actually yeah I will briefly say I let one get away but it wasn't a fish...it was a vintage wicker planter and dagnab it I am kicking myself for not grabbing it up when I found it.  But...oh well, you find some, you lose some and then you find some more such as....

No, its not the wicker planter I wanted but it helped to take away a little of the sting from the one that got away and it was just hanging there waiting for me to take it home and fill it with a pot and some wonderful little flower that will just spill out over its edges.  I have the perfect little purple flower in mind.  Can't wait to do a little summer flower planting!!

And then there was these little babies that I found....guess where they will be used?  Remember the Man Cave Redo (which by the way is still not finished...the hubby likes to take long breaks)...  No they can't be used for playing pool but I was certain I could find some use for them so in my trunk they went (and that's where they still are).  Guess that kinda makes me a little like the hubby then doesn't it?  I even put them back after taking the pics...and yeah I know that seems really foolish now that I actually think about it.  Oh Well...foolish I am I guess.

Can't wait till I find my next treasure!!!
And by the way...Delilah took my chair first chance she got so I gave in and moved to the couch.

Have a Happy Tuesday!!!

No Longer In Over My head

Ooo La La they are done.  I know maybe its a little foolish to get so excited over two little ole chairs but I must say I have been sooo excited to get these sweet little babies back to mamas house.   Just in case you haven't been following and don't have a clue as to what I am talking about let me fill you in.

A little while back I purchased these lovely lil ole beauties at the mini mall.
They were in need of being recovered and being the smart person I am I thought...hey I can do that, no problem.  Well guess what it was a problem because I didn't have a clue about what to do when I took the covering off and found this.
I knew I was out of my league so I did what any smart person would do...I took them to a professional.  I wanted to preserve them as much as I could, I just couldn't bring myself to destroy them.  So with that being said here they are after Bonnie (thank you Bonnie) retied the springs and recovered them.

Did I say I love them?  Well if not I'm saying it now.
Welcome home...now to find the perfect place for you.

They Are The Champs

They are stong... They are invincible... They are outstanding and... They are the CHAMPS.   I have spent this past weekend watching my hometown Lady Rockets bring home the title of State Champions and I must say it ranks right up there as one of the most amazing things I have ever seen.
These outstanding young ladies and the coaching staff headed by Chrysti Noble brought home the first ever State Championship Trophy to Rockcastle County High School.  To have been a part of this event is something that I still get choked up about today (ask the people I work with...couldn't talk about it without tears filling my eyes).  Knowing either the members of this team personally or their families and being there to share in this moment with them was priceless but seeing the Heros welcome home for them was also amazing.

You can see the excitement as they are being brought home on firetrucks with police leading the way and fans standing outside waiting on their arrival.

And the looks on their faces was priceless as they round their school and see the hundreds of fans waiting there to show their love and support.  By the way look at that cute Katie and how shocked she was when she saw the crowd.  Of course Logan was there waiting to see her and welcome her home.

They are being followed in by the coaching staff and some of the members of their family.  You know the coaches always like to let their team have the spot light and this wonderful group is no different.

And to my friend Coach Noble I just want to say how proud I am you and your accomplishments.  You have done so much for this community and you are an outstanding person.  I know that there are many future little Lady Rockets out there right now just waiting to be a part of your team and follow in the footsteps of these young ladies.

Champions In More Ways Than One

Ok so my blog is usually about thrifting, crafting, decorating

and so on but tonights post is about something totally

different but very near and dear to my heart....LADY

ROCKETS!!!!  I was at one time a lady Rocket but that was a

loooong time ago.  I probably couldn't run down the floor and

back without passing out but that is not the reason for the

post tonight...no tonights post is a celebration for the

Regional Champs!!!!  So proud of our girls as they once again

head to Diddle Arena to battle it out for the title of State

 Champ.
Copied this pic from Katies pics...thanks
And of course I have to give a big shout out to number 21...

Hi Katie.  She is my sons favorite player and highschool

sweetheart and yes I think she is a really kinda sweet too and

cute to boot.

Once again CONGRATS Girls!!!!!

And to my friend Coach Noble just want to say I am proud of

you and your coaching staff for the wonderful job that you

do. When the season is over I think its time to plan a girls

weekend out.  Woo Hoo see you at Diddle!!!

In Over My Head

Look at these little beauties that I found at a local mini mall for a bargin price.

My plan is/was to recover them all by myself but when I took the fabric off this is what I found...

I wonder if this was the original fabric?
Now I am at a total LOSS as to what to do!  I have called someone who does upholstery work to get her advice so until then I guess I will just have to wait.

Now that I have removed the fabric and see the stuffing material I am really curious about the age  of these little beauties.  I tried to research it some last night but didn't have any luck.  Does anyone have any idea how old they are or what style they are?
