As we age we reach certain milestones in our lives. You fall in love, get married, buy a home or maybe even a farm, have a couple of babies, watch them grow, watch them fall in love and eventually watch them leave home to begin a life of their own.
Of course that's a shortened condensed version of life because there's so much more than that.
A little over a week ago I had the honor of watching my son, my firstborn, the one who introduced me to motherhood, the one who taught me what not to do and what to do as a young mother marry his soul mate.
Of course I feel very blessed to have her in my life and an added bonus is that she shares the thrifting/junking gene with me. I know I'm biased but they are stunningly handsome and beautiful.
Mr. and Mrs. Ponder Of course I have to give a shout out to The Barn at Redgate and to Jenna Blue Photography The venue was perfect and Jenna does an amazing job. |
In the months leading up to the big day I was fortunate enough to be able to check out venue spots and to go thrifting in hopes of finding all of the beautiful things Brittany had envisioned for her big day. We were on the hunt for beautiful vintage glassware, china, cake stands, vintage silver, candle sticks and so much more. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of everything from those shopping ventures but here is just a sampling of some of our treasures
And all I went after was the pink Fostoria. |
Oh happy day |
I think I may have an obsession with vintage silverware (of course it's silver plate, I can't afford the real silver) |
No before pics but it was bye bye brass and hello spray chalk paint. |
My Ebay score for vintage napkins |
Just a portion of our score on day one. |
So it's not a rekindled love with an old flame but instead a rekindled love of old things, thrifting and someone else's junk. This has lead to more purchases such as these beautiful glasses.
And this...plus more
Its even more beautiful up close
And this...plus more
So maybe Brittany and I should go into the rental business...I'm pretty sure we have a good start on the necessary supplies. You know where to look if you are looking for beautiful vintage pieces for a party, wedding, or dinner party.
Most importantly out of all of this my son has found his love and gained a wife and I have gained a daughter in law. It's a wonderful start of a new beginning.
